On July 31st, the Wire and Cable Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association organized a technical seminar on overhead insulated cables in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. More than 10 expert representatives from enterprises in the fields of production, testing, and product research attended the seminar. This meeting is organized by the Power Cable and Accessories Work Department of the branch and hosted by Hangzhou Cable Co., Ltd.

Xu Xiaofeng, Secretary General of the Power Cable and Accessories Work Department of the Branch, first introduced the background of this meeting, implemented the work requirements of the Wire and Cable Branch, strengthened research on key products and major categories of products, and conducted an analysis of the product technology status, industry development trends, and common application problems in the field of overhead insulated cables since the 13th Five Year Plan. Relevant research and project suggestions were proposed.

Sun Jiansheng, Deputy Chief Engineer of Shanghai Cable Research Institute, gave a special report introducing the current classification of overhead insulated cable types, changes and developments in conductor materials and insulation materials, and exploring the application of new materials, testing methods, and application requirements. The attending representatives engaged in lively discussions on topics such as product voltage levels, conductor design and specifications, insulation design and material selection, flame retardant requirements, line fittings matching, common testing issues, standardization technology, etc., and formed several technical consensuses and research directions.

The follow-up work department will track and refine relevant issues, promote joint research on common technologies, and promote the improvement of the technology and quality level of overhead insulated cable products.
